Oh Captian My Captian

With Roberto Luongo sporting the always fashionable "C" the Canucks are in a pretty decent position in the early stages of this NHL season. Going 7-2-1 in their last 10, they are tied for first in the Northwest divison. But thats not the point.......

Mr Luongo, I'd say deserves more then anyone, to be called the captian. He is amoung the teams highest importance and the league leading men between the pipes. Luongo has 5 shutouts on the years, so far, 3 of which coming in a streak of 242 consecutive minutes, breaking the Canucks longest no-goals against streak. He is tied in 2nd with Nabokov and Backstrom for most wins with 10, only Lundqvist has more, at 11 wins. So with the "c" on his helmet and not on his jersey (by NHL rules, a goalie cannot have a "c" on his jersey) it hasn't stopped him from leading by example, and breaking franchise and personal records. As Mike Weaver once said "he's a freak of nature". Yeah, we hear ya Mike!

This is intense .....you should probably watchi it. with guest appearence from Anahiems Brendan Morrison, NYR Markus Naslund and Pittsburgh Matt Cooke.
